injecters

I have an 01 7.3L F350 and have oil leaking past my injecter o-rings. Where is the best source to buy new injecters. I have 220,000 on the truck and figure instead of having the o-rings replaced its probably time for a new set of injectors.

What do you want? Just stock replacements? Or bigger? FYI, o ring kits...$10 bucks... Injectors...$200...

I'm losing oil in the high pressure oil tank. I'm also getting a lot of black smoke on acceleration. I'm not getting any smoke at an idle. I'm running a k& n filter on the air breather. Mechanic suggested the o-rings. i figured days labor mighted be saved in the long run considering the high mileage

You need to do a little more checking... How do you know your loosing HPO out of the res? Could be the IPR, You need to have someone read the codes, and do some data logging to see what the HPO is...

I get the same thing but its due to the chip being turned to the highest setting most ( ok all ) the time.

I am with Joe on this one. You need more info before you drop 1600+or- when it could be something much less expensive like the IPR, or even the check ball in the HPOP. Does this drop in HPO happen over a period of time (overnight), or more quickly?

not sure what the ipo is, i am losing oil on an inconsistant basis i just thought that as the oil broke down i would lose more, i am a welder and tend to run over on oil changes at times, sometimes a couple of thousand over.I run rotella oil and have heard that it tends to thin out

These engines do tend to burn oil especially while towing or heavy loaded. when I hook my 5er up and tow for 1500 miles Ill lose 1/2 qt. how many miles do try to go for an Oil change? Ford does not consider it to use excessive oil until it uses more than a qt in 900 miles. Rotella is a fine oil. If your changing your oil normally at 6000 miles and just happen to run over to 7000 miles it is not a big deal. I had an Blackstone labs report done on my delo at 7528 miles and they said to keep going. I didn't, cause I wasn't comfortable with oil with 10K miles on it.

HPOP =High pressure oil pump
IPR= injection pressure regulator

Are all your boots tight, no vac leaks?
Fuel filter good?

I've washed the boots several thousand miles ago and they have stayed clean and i checked the connections. My rig is heavily loaded about 13800 lbs. Scan comes back clean, mech says hpop running about 15 - 20 lbs low and suggests replacement in the future. Fuel filter was changed about 15000 ago, I'll change it cheap to replace. I try to change my oil every 5000 miles
