Yeah, belt tension, that's the prob. The location of the 'business end' of the tensioner seems inaccessable w/out removing the cooling schroud and fan. Is there a special tool or am I just seeing it wrong?

Take a 1/2 in socket driver, and slide the square end down to the front of the tensioner, with the handle standing straight up.

Wiggle a hand to the front of the tensioner, and fit the 1/2 into the square opening.

Attach a wrench or something to increase leverage or lenght of tool.

If possible, have a friend slide the belt off the pulley while you crank counter-clockwise on that tensioner.

You shouldn't have to remove anything at all. I have a 1999, but I suspect that it is the same.

It's for myself as a spare for parts. How much is your core charge... if it's low enough I could pay
