I have a 92 f-150 302 efi and want to know if a 94-96 crown vic( all I know is it's 8 cly, assuming 4.9l)? tranny will go in. Kick down cable, computer hookup?? Just getting started thanks
Look it up on wikipedia, and see what transmission it has.
Maybe you can switch some bellhouseings around, and you'll probably have to change the output shaft maybe?
Find out what engine the crown vic has. Ford started using the 4.6L modular around then. If that's what it has, forget it. A 4.9L is the straight six, not a V8. If it has a 302, then the tranny is most likely a car variant of the 4R70w and you would need a computer to control it, but I don't know how well a car 302 ECM would run a truck 302. Sounds like more hassle than it's worth to me.
E4OD are found in trucks only. Bellhousings are not detachable on any tranny the car or the F-150 might have.
typical piece of **** ford. If it was a chevy it would fit. I can't believe ford didn't follow in chevy's footsteps and make **** that would fit. thanks guys
