2wd tranny
I have an 87 bronce with a 5.0 and a not factory 3-speed auto. I also have a wrecked 92 f-150 2wd 5.0 5-speed. Is it possible at all to retrofit the tranny so that it will bolt up to the transfer case? I am a machinist so making parts is not out of the question, I know I will probably have to get a 4wd 5-speed out of a junkyard. I was just hoping to use the tranny i already have. Thanks

You would have to replace the output shaft and rear case half. On a standard trans. you would have to tear the Trans completely apart to do this. You would be better off selling it on e-bay or somewhere else. And getting the right one.

the transmission in there now is an automatic but the truck originaly had an overdrive auto, some previous owner had installed the 3 speed i dont know if it is a c-4 or a c-6. it doesnt matter. I cant afford 8mpg anyway. what aplications did the zf come in? thanks
