71 driveshaft problems

71 driveshaft problems

Just swapped my transmission and put an orginal one in and my driveshaft doesnt fit. Does anyone know if the orginal ones were a one piece or two?

The long beds used two piece setups. When I swapped the C6 into mine from 3 spd. I went with a cut one piece. There are spline and fitment issues that can occur on both ends.

You have choices.

Thanks for the info...mine is a short bed with a C4 tranny...and I cant find a replacement anywhere except having one made and I really can't afford that right now. If you have any suggestions please let me know... thanks

Having one cut should run about $125.00. Is that out of you budget?

The one I have is too short so therefore they would have to lengthen it and they want 350.00 to do that. Any other suggestions?

yeah, find a race car shop....for $250 bucks you can find a 2" chomemoly one with joints and everything. it will be lighter and stronger and cheaper alternative.
