Question heater/blower/Fan speed switch?

How do you replace the blower/heater speed switch on these trucks? I'm trying to do it on my 77 F100 w/ factory A/C.

I took everything apart to get to it, but I could NOT get it off. I don't know if there is a secret clip or you need super man strength to take it off. I pulled so hard I thought something was going to break so I stoped.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I already don't remember, but I know for sure there was at least one. I will look better for the other one tomorrow. Thanks for the diagram.

Any thing else tricky to it? Clips on the port that attatches to it needs to be removed?

Mine only has one screw that goes through the wing like piece that sticks out the side accesible from the bottom with a long phillips.

Did you have any kind of trouble take the clip(of wires)off the back? I can't seem to get it off.

Question

Mine has one very small hex head that connects the switch.

I just changed it(switch), and my fan still isn't blowing.

I can hear the little blower motor and so can my mechanic(who was trained on this model truck, and has never steared me wrong before).

The problem has to be something else.
It's not the switch, fuses, or the blower motor, so what else can it be?

Mil1ion, if you could, please explain what I need to do, because the 100 degree heat and 100% humidity is KILLING me. Relay, wire? What and where?

If the motor is turning it should be blowing.
have you checked all the vacuum actuators to open the AC doors ?

I hear something that sounds like it's turning right where the blower motor is, it's not to loud, but it's there. I didn't check the vacuum actuators to open the AC doors, how would I do that?

By moving the slide cable across to various positions and listening for things changing.

I thought it might of had something to do with that, but I wasn't sure....
Either way, I checked, and that's working perfectly.

What are my other options? (even if for some reason the blower motor isn't working, it could be that and what else(so I can change everything to eliminate all possiblities))?

Thanks for the help so far, I really appreciate the quick replies.

Did you try a jumper wire to the motor leads for direct 12V to see what happens ?

No. What do you mean by that? Volt meter test?
I do not have the blower motor visible. Is there anything I can do that would by pass something (I don't know, I'm desperate)?

Ok, I'll study the heck out of the diagrams, and see if I can come up with something tomorrow, since it's jet black outside now.

I greatly thank you for the help.
