Clearing out a Check Engine Light trick?
I've got a 97 Ranger 2.3L. I recently had to have the gas tank dropped and the fill hose replaced. Ever since my check engine light has been on. I took it to the Vato Zone and they ran a P1445 or whatever the EVAP code is. I asked a question about getting the light to go off so I can get it inspected, and someone told me a trick that sounded idiotic.
She told me to:
Unhook the battery
touch the positive cable to the negative side for 20 seconds
At first I though that would fry my fuseable link or just fry my computer. However, after thinking about it she did say to disconnect the negative end. Will this work?
Any more help on this problem would be appreciated...
