Well im trying to look up on the history of my truck, i got the vin # but everytime i enter it it says that the Vin # is in correct, it tells me its missing 6 digits. My truck is a 77 f-100 custom,2wd, 300c.i.

What are you trying to enter it into, Carfax or something? If so, Carfax doesn't take vins from older vehicles. Not sure what year is the cutoff, but they changed the vins to a longer version at some point.
ALL F Series trucks went to 17 digit VIN's in 1981. Prior to 1981, the VIN is 11 digits.
Use the link provided by Mil1ion to decode the VIN, or post it here.
You can also list all the codes from the Warranty (VIN) Plate to discover the following once the codes are decoded: Engine, transmission, rear axle ratio, paint color, upholstery color and material, where the truck was built, and the Ford district sales zone that the truck was ordered from.
