As someone that tows alot and have been in spots were not having a gauge has led to premature tranny problems, I would strongly encourage the tranny gauge, that is one that I wouldn't drop by any means. Now environment plays a part, I mainly stay within a certain geographic region(from Dallas to Gloucester and southward from those two) and I see triple degree heat quite frequently. There is nothing scarier then being in the middle of an intersection and trying to make a turn past oncoming traffic(now when I started the turn I had plenty of time) pulling a horse trailer and it would take 30 secs for the tranny to shift into gear and the next thing I knew when I talked to the mech. he said the tranny overheated and burned the servos. I wouldn't drop that one.
