Cool Service engine soon light

I am getting the p304 code for the number 4 cylinder misfire.2001 F-150 4.6 with the coil directly over the plug(no wires) Pulled coil and plug. Plug was black and coil looked intact. It runs with a lot of vibration. Not loosing coolant and none on the cylinder or plug as best I can tell. I switched the coil to a diffrent cylinder to see if it followed it, It did not. put new plug in and cleared the code. After a test run it gave the code again. Any suggestions for further diagnosis.
Thanks,
E.L. Williams

Are you sure you checked the correct cylinder? #4 is on the passenger side nearest the firewall.

try moving the plug to a different cylinder and see if it moves. Nevermind, I see you put a new plug in already.

Yeah did that. I am kinda stumped here I'm leaning towards the wire or plug going to the coil. Maybe a bad contact or something along the harness. Just a guess.
