Question

dome light won"t work

When you open the drivers door dome light doesn't work.

Open the passengers door it works. any suggestions? this is on a 1997 f-150 2 wd. Thanks Dave.

My guess is that the driver side door switch is bad. Maybe the truck does not realize that the driver side door is open! Maybe its worn out from 10 years worth of service.... You must not carry much passengers. Swap the switches to verify and drive the truck 10 more years!

Try spraying wd40 in the door latch. The switch could be stuck and it is located in the door latch.

I had a similar issue on my '97 F150 and the WD40 did the trick.
