I have a 1981 F-100 with a 4 speed overdrive trans in it. When my clutch is pumped up or down it seems as if the body of the cab is moving and enough to take some clutch linkeage movment away. Does anyone else have this same problem? If the clutch isnt over adjusted there is not enough pedal movement for a smooth disengagement. I would like to know what the remedy is. Thanks Steve
Well, if your drivers side cab mount is rusted out the cab may just be lifting as you apply the clutch. It happened on a buddy of mine's 68 GMC.
The other thing that happens is all of the clutch pivot points start to oval out, each point taking up your precious movement. that happened on my 67 F-100. The fix was to weld washers over the picot points to get them back round.
