RABS diagnostic connector...where?
I have a '99 E150 and I am trying to locate the RABS diagnostic
connector (C208). The Ford Technical Service manual is practically
worthless with the diagram it presents.
If anyone with a F150 wants to chime in, please go ahead. If
someone knows the pinout/shape of the connector, that would help me
also (can't find the connector description in the Technical manual
either)
My ABS light is on and I am trying to find out what is causing
it. It came on after I stopped at the gas station the other day
and won't go off. The brakes seem ok.
Thanks, Mike (aka rockclimber_tx)
Good luck,
/Kris
Thanks for the reply. What year F150 are you referring to? In
my tech manual it states that the connector is two parts and you
have to connect to the side which has a black wire with an orange
stripe. Does this sound like the same thing on your F150? The only
thing I can find around the drivers side is the DLC (data link
connector).
Thanks, Mike
There is a connector where I described (probably the DLC as you say) and another near the fuse panel at the left knee. If one of these aren't what you are looking for, I guess I sent you on a goose chase.
Good luck again,
/Kris
I've got a '98 E-150 4.6L. My service manual says the
RABS connector is under the I/P (instrument panel) on
the RH (passenger side). From the picture it looks to be
on the passenger side all the way to the right. Like between
the right side of the air bag and the passenger side A/C vent.
Happy Hunting,
Mc
Thats the exact same description my service manual has....but
it never shows the actual connector. My picture just has an arrow
which points to a wiring harness....not an actual connector. I'm
sure the '99 & '98 models are the same ( I also have the 4.6l).
I've taken all of the accessable dash panels off and can't see a
connector. I've found the wiring harness, but it connects to the
Siemens Crash recorder (or something like that), and a few other
connectors down next to the foot area on the far right side.
I did find something interesting this morning. Next to the DLC
connector on the driver side is a connector with a label attached
that says "Brake Test". Anyone know what this is?
Mike
