ultra coils

I'am thinking about upgrading my coil system
and Iam thinking about a hot coil. Will I have
any problems with my Duaspark II system by leaving
it stock. I own a 1980 Bronco with a 351M. Any
suggestions?

Pic247:

I have a '71 F350 with the 400M from a '77 Ranchero. The Ranchero used the Duraspark system. For my truck, I used the distributor from the Ranchero but instead of the duraspark unit I installed a MSD 6A and a MSD Blaster II Coil. It currently has the spark plug wires that were in the Ranchero.

The truck starts easily, idles smoothly and has lots of power. I'm very satisified with the setup. The MSD 6A uses the magnetic leads from the distributor and is very easy to install. The MSD 6A cost about $130 and the coil is another $30. I got them both from Kragens and I believe you can also get them from Auto Zone and most other auto parts stores.

I also installed this same system in my '84 Bronco with a 302 and my '68 Mustang with a 289. On the Bronco and Mustang I also installed the MSD 8.5mm low-resistance spark plug wires.

This setup made each of these vehicles run a lot better and my cold-starting problem are a thing of the past.

Hope this helps.
