Can anyone give me any info on requirements for this mod?
I have been told I'll need to change the wiring harness, does anyone know where I can get one.
My P/U is a 94 F150 sb, manual tranny, 300 6, fuel inj. w/ Dynamax exh , K&N Filtercharger.
I just need to know what it takes to do this and what I'll need to buy other than the motor.

I just finished my 300/6 to 302HO in my 85 F150, and if I were doin it again I'd buy a wrecked truck with the same motor I'd be puttin in. There's so many little things....But the hardest part is the front acc. brackets..I was really lucky to find a 88 with a single surpintine belt system that a junk yard just pulled in to dismantle. The cast alum. brackets(all 2 1/2 of them) cost me $250, but I'd pay $500 for them now that I know. You'll have to buy an Ignition system, I bought a standalone system from Ford so I wouldn't have to make all the connections, the harness came with all the ford plugs and made the job eaiser. Patience, take 1 thing at a time, it's up to you to deciede if it's worth it. In my case it is cheaper than buying a new truck.
I did a 300 to 302 swap in an older 76 f100. Obviously the wireing was less complicated, and there was no fuel injection to worry about. Some changes I had to make were as follows: Engine perches are different. Radiator needed swapping because the inlet and outlet tubes were backwards. I needed to find a crossover/intermediate pipe for the 302 (the donor had dual exhaust in a car). The throttle cable bracketry on the fire wall was wrong and woundn't clear the v8 head (You probably have cable's). Donor engine came with a c4 flexplate and I could'd use my manual tranny flywheel because 300/6 is internally balanced and the 302(pre 85) had a 28oz external balance. I ended up converting to a smallblock c6. The 300 shares the bellhousing pattern with small blocks (289,302,351W,351C) Your truck is much newer and is fuel injected, Windsor Fox is a company devoted to EFI conversions using Ford small blocks. They could advise on wiring harness changes if needed and sell you conversion harnesses if needed. They provide all kinds of parts and widgets ect to help people swap newer EFI motors into vintage cars. If you were to find a donor 5.8 truck of your body style being parted or in a wrecking yard I would be sure to snag the engine perches, exhaust up to the cat, and the flexplate or flywheel (351W continued to have 28oz counterweight, 302 changed around 85 to 50oz counterweight) Check your radiator configuration to a 5.8 and swap if neccesary. My 302 wasn't a 5.0 HO roller cam engine and looking back I wished I had just built the 300. The 302 ended up haveing a bad crank so now I either fix the 302 and try and build as much low end into as I can, or swap to a 351W or (I got sidetracked and bought a 390 '69) swap the 390 into the 76. I have come to the conclusion that The cheapest thing to do would be to buy a long block instead of swapping. Of coarse 94 trucks cost a lot more than most 70's vintage trucks. This being said I could probably buy a decent 94 w/ 5.8 for the restoration, repair, and swapping expences I have into my older trucks. If you buy a long block you get some guarantee that the engine won't fail or if it does you have some recoarse.
Good Luck
