New truck

Hello everyone! I bought a "new to me" truck a few months ago and I am ready to start messin with it. My old truck was a 2000 f-350 psd, manual tranny, wicked wheel, 4inch mbrp turbo back, aftermarket intake, gauges and I was running the excalII. I want to use the xcalII on my new one and I want to run custom tunes. I have heard people talking about a couple of guys on here who write custom tunes and I am wondering who is the best. I hear alot about Matt(i believe from LIPD) and now I hear alot of talk about Trojan. Who do you think I would be better off with having write my tunes? How much trouble would it be to have the new tunes put on my programmer since the tunes for the old truck are still on it?

Thanks, elkarcher

You will have to send it in to get cleared and unlocked. Once thats done you can go to multilple venders for tunes.

Dj's Diesel performance, Spartan, Innovative, LIPD, Elite and a few others. The choice is yours. I like DJ's but its a matter of opinion

Does it matter who I send it in to? Do I need to send it to the same shop that gave me the tunes to get it unlocked? Thanks for the reply superdudey!

Go to www.sctflash.com and download live load 3. Get a usb cable to hook the tuner up to the computer. Download the drivers also so your computer can recognize the tuner. Connect the tuner and then open live load. This will allow you to view the existing tunes and give you the ability to unlock the tuner and erase previous tunes. Once this is completed get your new stragety code from your truck and give the custom dealer of choice a call. They will take your stragety code and build a tune just for you. Good Luck!!!!

Not sure how recently SCT starting offering the ability to clear and unlock tunes yourself. The only thing that could stop him from doing it is if the origional vendor locked the tuner with a serial number. It is an option. You actually can set one yourself. My guess is to prevent theft?

Matt left LIPD about a month ago, and now has his own company "Spartan Diesel Technologies. Matt at Spartan or Eric at Innovative are the two tuners of choice for the 6.0 here at FTE. Call and talk to either one of them and go with the one you are most comfortable with.

I am not familiar with "Trojan"
