That's OK, i've already upgraded to a 6.0 32 row transmission cooler when i was at BTS. So the 7.3 radiator has 2 rows? Interesting. If i destroy this one, how much better is the 6.0 radiator? This is a brand new radiator i just modified and installed, still have the box so i don't have any dirt or bugs in it to worry about cleaning. It flows very fast, very well. I modified a 7.3 fan shroud that i picked up from Riverside Salvage.

With my custom fan and Horton clutch locked my a/c thermometer read as low as 42 degrees, after flogging around town, and parking in the shade when it was about 90 degrees outside. Let it run for about 15 minutes. Engine coolant was just barely above 180 the whole time. Without the fan locked it rose. We used a laser digital thermometer to shoot down the air vents and the a/c was blowing as cool as 27 degrees which i still can't really believe but we did many tests and the guage reads extremely accurately.

I've seen my a/c thermometer read as low as 34 degrees before this fan mod so i think i will finally have some nice cool air conditioning and no longer have to worry about keeping my engine cool. As long as i don't build ice in the system i should be set for cool cruising.

To really test running the wires through the radiator, all of the other modifications, and whether or not the coolant will now stay cool, we are going to run some trails tomorrow. Moody Hill is a favorite not too far away and will pound my truck as hard as most of the trails my truck will squeeze through. I used 4 gallons of Prestone's environmentally safer coolant, almost 2 gallons of distilled water, and a little bit of DEI Diesel Radiator Relief.
