Died while running 65mph

Borrowed an 04 F350 6.0L w/ 60k miles dually from a buddy last month to pull a 32 foot car trailer last month. While running 65 on 316 to athens, ga the truck just died. Luckily i started going up a hill to slow me down. Truck fired back up and i continued on my way. Unhooked the trailer and went to take off and with the pedal pressed the truck would not move. It just idled while i threw the pedal to the floor. Ford came and picked it up. I called my buddy and he was sorry b/c he let me borrow the wrong truck. He stated that the truck has been in three times for this same problem but it is still doing it. It just gets to the point now where they just let it sit for a couple of days and fire it up and run it till it does it again. What do these symptoms seem to point to? EGR? HPOP?

Souns like a classic HPOP problem. When the engine oil get warm the problem is worse so the engine loses power and quits.

appreciate it blackhat. It sure was scary when the truck just died going that fast. The ford dealer (Akins Ford) where the two trucks were purchased took the flatbed of the problematic one and set it on a brand new 07 no questions asked and went ahead and gave them a good trade in value on the other one. Now the two 07's have about 35k trouble free miles on them
