My 04 250 on occasion will lose power it will be running fine and then all of sudden will lag. I had the EGR cleaned about a month ago when it first started and it ran good for a month.

How many miles, and mods on the truck?
Is there any smoke or other symptoms?
Is the power lost from take off or while you are cruising down the road?
83k, no mods and power loss is at take off and at around 50 mpg, but no smoke.
Sounds like the EGR valve is sticking, which is not uncommon even after cleaning. The EGR valve is supposed to be thoroughly tested after cleaning to determine if it will function properly. Sounds like the EGR valve will more than likely need to be replaced.
EBP sensor is known to cause erratic egr function, have it checked, this could be youre problem
03 & 04 Superduties and Excursions built before Sept 29, 2003 that have the 6L engines elliminates the use of the EBP sensor and uses the MAF, MAP, BARO & EOT because of the latest flashs "06E17".
Since his is an 04 I also say egr as my 03 needed the egr replaced last week after recent cleaning with similar symptons. Dealers use to only replace egr's as they have proven to be very problematic however ford is forcing dealers to clean egr's first before replacing egr's these days.
My egr was replaced under warranty so maybe your covered as well.
