I have the firewall mount for my 55 because of the linkage. I like the cable coming through the firewall in a straight line with the throttle verses the linkage doglegging up behind the motor.
I've used the Lokar Eliminator floor mount throttle pedal twice and it has worked fine both times. It is an easier install if you also purchase the carb bracket and cable from Lokar. Very clean with no linkage showing in the cab and only the cable on the firewall side. Also requires a rectangular hole to be cut, approx. 1/2" x 2" but it is covered when installed.
