this is what i am working with 1987 f-250 4x4 HD 460 4spd. from what i can tell it has all 1ton drivetrain under it, but it has the ttb front end and i want to throw a solid axle under it. what would be the best year to rob an axle from to replace the ttb. as well what other parts would i need to complete the swap? i have possible access to a 1978 dana 60 high pinion front end. would this be my best option? iam open for any and all feedback. thanks

 

78 works, but its a bit of work, and you will have to lift it some.

Get one from a 85.5-97 F-350, 100% bolt in swap.

 

thanks for the info. i was wondering about that year 85.5-97. i was accually hopeing to find an f-350 but the best i could do was the beast f-250 i bought. once again thanks for the info.
