Roller Rockers worth it?
I am in the process of rebuilding my 400 in my 78 F-150 and have a couple of questions.
1. My engine is going to be mild @300 hp and was wondering if roller rockers would offer any advantage over hyraulic?

It sounds like you're just doing a mild buildup. A decent set of full roller rockers is $170 for that motor, a set of long slot stamped rockers is like $90. Personally, I'd pay the difference, less wear on all the parts. No, you're not going all out but I always think it's best to eliminate friction, even in street applications.

Chilly460 is right. Roller rockers will reduce engine friction. And the more friction you can reduce in an engine the more efficient it runs. Efficient meaning that it uses more of the power that the engine makes instead of losing it through the casting due to heat which is caused by, you guessed it, "Friction!"

Roller Rockers worth it?
Roller lifters are also a great addition to any motor, they have significanlty less friction then a regular hydraulic lifter. More importantly, they allow a more efficient cam profile that builds more torque and horsepower than a plain hydraulic cam of the same "size". So why doesn't everyone use them? $$$ They are a good bit more expensive and some engines can't accept them. They are probably overkill for the setup you have, unless you want to justify the extra $400-500 cost.
