Driver window control not working

Hello-

I have a 2000 Excusion and I recently took apart the interior to install sound deadening material throughout the truck. The divers window control panel will not roll up the front windows but will roll up the two rear windows. All of the other windows work at their control swicth on the door including the front passenegers. When I press the driver side window for either of the front windows all my lights dim even when the engine is on and the windows dp not move. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Pal, it sounds like when you re-assembled the door panel a wire may have gotten pinched or nicked. The give away was your comment about the lights dimming...sounds like a short.

Check in the door jam for a frayed or cut wire inside the boot, it is fairly common. Definitely a short or a completely bound up window regulator. Listen closely to the motor and see if it is trying to move. Surprised that no fuses are blown if it is a short.
