Hose problem

I have a 400 mild bulid engine and im having problems with the water hose that returns the water to the radiator (the one coming out of the bottom of the engine), the water expels the hose out a couple of minutes ater runing the engine. I ve tried several diameters of hoses, even really tight ones, also the engine temperature is really down (cold), what could be happening ?

Well the hose on the bottom is the return to the engine. Are you saying it swells up? Do you run a thermostat?

That doesn't add up. The bottom hose is under suction and tends to collapse when it's weak rather than swell. You can check your temp sender by pulling the wire off and then grounding the wire. It should show cold/full hot.

Do you have any signs of a blown head gasket etc.?
