I just purchased a 2005 Lariat Supercrew with the keyless entry option. Is it possible to set this to an autolock mode? I was told by the used vehicle salesman that it's not possible. I did not receive a manual with the truck. Can this be done without installing an alarm? TIA..Jim
I'm sure there is an option to have it autolock once you are in the truck, put it in gear and get above a few MPH - or also to disable this option. I don't have my manual with me right now, so maybe someone else can chime in on how to activate/deactivate this feature.
If you are talking about having the truck autolock when you get out, close the door and walk away, I don't know about that one. Although I would think that if it doesn't have this option, a time delay relay and some simple wiring could fix it so it would.
as corey says it is possible to have autolock engage when in gear and release the brake pedal. it is set thru your message center. i do not have my manual with me to tell you exactly how to do it but i did it on mine so i know it can be done. (note: the vehicle has no provision for auto unlock--just autolock)

if you want a manual, alot of dealers keep some handy as extras. My used truck didnt come with one either and i went back a month after i bought the truck and asked for an owners manual and they just gave me one from the extra stock
not to **** down someones leg.....but how lazy can you be to want something as simple as power locks...push a button...keyless enrty...push a button...door keypad..this one gets tricky but its TWO buttons at one time...still looking for something that takes less effort. not trying to ruffle any feathers gymbo just kinda thought it funny and couldnt help myself

There is always the possibility of walking away from you truck and forgetting to lock it during the course of doing errands. The autolock feature would guarantee a locked vehicle, when you walk away from it. Had an autolock feature on my last alarm. No need to get into the habit of using the remote, or power door lock button. Just closed the door and walked away. Whats wrong with that?

Nothing is wrong with that. Just be sure you have the keys with you unless you have the keypad on the door in case you set your keys inside the truck and leave.. I have found a couple times when I forgot to lock the truck and this would have come in handy. Did you get the correct manual and get it working?
