Hi guys, anyone ever use the Ford Motorsport A411 cam in their FE? Also can anyone tell me the most lift you can get away with in an Fe with non adjustable rockers? I was told that the A411 with .493 -.513 lift was a bolt in and go cam.
Thanks
Sorry,i really cant answer the question but i can tell you i installed the 268H comp cam with 494 lift on both sides in my 390 with no problems but i wouldnt go any higher with non-adjustible rockers.
Hey Taz, I have not run that particular cam but it looks fine as far as lift is concerned. I used to run a Crane cam in my 428CJ that came in at .528” / .546” lift with no problems on non-adjustable rockers. It could rev all day at 6000 RPM with no valve float or thrown pushrods. The machine shop said not to go over .600” lift because of valve spring binding. Don’t forget to check your piston to valve clearance if you are running non-stock pistons.
Thanks guys, I'm going to give it a try.I hope it does ok, I have put alot of $$ in it.But I did not want to use the adjustable rockers, so I went with the Motorsport cam which is a little smaller than the Crane I was going to use. I used all good parts in the block and heads.I had the machine shop do their number on the heads with .600 lift crane springs etc., but they could not tell me about the rockers. So I guess I was worrying a little(still). But ya'll have made me feel a littl more at ease. Thanks
