I've got most parts, but.... Hoping someone can give me a couple of measurements of the brake pedal. Distance from pivot to pushrod and pushrod to middle of pedal pad.
DJR96, I checked out the link you posted and what you call a Navara is a "Sport Trac" in the US. That forum is 2 down on the forum list page. I'm sure that someone there can give you the dimensions, although, you realize that your brake pedal is on the right side (it's on the left here) of the vehicle. I'm not sure that a US spec brake pedal will match up. Good hunting.
looks like the previous gen Nissan Frontier 4 door body being mated to an F-250 Chassis and running gear? interesting... and it seems he got the trucks from the states, so they should be on the left side...
Yeah Mike, hes calling it a Ford Navara because hes putting a Nissan Crew Cab body on an F250 SD Diesel frame, and from what I get from that thread on his link hes using the SD driveline for strength and durability which is understandable, and hes using the Nissan body because the Ford CC body is too large for him.
DJR96, I take it you need the Ford SD dimensions for the brake pedal assembly so you can get the proper brake pedal ratio using the Nissan MC and brake booster to properly apply the Ford brakes?
I think what you need to do is take the master cylinder and brake booster off the SD cab you have along with the pedal assembly therefore you have the proper pedal ratio and proper brake boost for your "new" driveline.
Thanks for the interest guys. Yes you're on the right track.
The SD I got from US, the Navara is local (Australian) and therefore right hand drive.
This "conversion" gets me a medium size, dual cab body (and I think quite a nice one at that), that the wife will drive. F250 too big for her........
I'm going to use the entire SD braking system including hydroboost master cylinder, only I didn't get the pedal!
For legalities and rego, it will be easier to just use all the SD parts. When you start mixing parts from different vehicles, that complicates things no end.
So is anyone able to provide these dimensions for me? (yes, pedal ratio)
.... Hoping someone can give me a couple of measurements of the brake pedal. Distance from pivot to pushrod and pushrod to middle of pedal pad.
Cheers,
Dave.
I used a high-tech precision measuring instrument (tape measure) and I got 3" (about 7.62 cm) from the center of the pivot to the center of the pushrod and 12" (about 30.48 cm) from the center of the pushrod to the center of the brake pedal.
I wasn't sure if you preferred inches or metric. Don't worry, I took my shoes off to do the math.
