Tranny questions
This is my first diesel and first big truck. Previous owner had tranny replaced 12K miles ago. It is an auto and I'm just not really sure how these things are supposed to shift. I have recently ridden in 92 F350 and 2001 F250 that both shifted smoother than mine. My first two shifts are very crisp, the third shift is fairly smooth and the last shift is almost seems a little too early but I really don't know. I have been told that auto trannys do better with very firm shifting because there is almost no slippage but the general public would never tolerate that as a whole. Also, am I always in OD unless I push the OD button? BTW, I have yet to push the OD button, what will happen when I do? I haven't pulled anything yet either.
