97 Tail pipe relocation
First of all this site is the best for advice.People are always friendly with replies and just in general.My Q? is,has anyone paid to have there tailpipe on there 97 F150,to be moved behind the wheel?And how much?Mine needs to be relocated due to blackening my rim.Thanx,Wayne

I just had mine relocated. The local muffler shop installed a DynoMax SuperTurbo muffler and custom-bent the pipe...topped it off with a 3" stainless tip. The custom pipe comes back over the axle, down between the shock and spare tire, then out the side. I had suggested using a factory-bent pipe for a newer truck, but he was more comfortable bending his own...I must say, he did a nice job!! The guy with the previous reply must have some connections to get his done for $45, mine ran $200.

I have a 97 f150 Lariat 4.6L. I had the same problem as I have chrome rims. I did'nt move the tailpipe, though. I had the stock muffler cut out and replaced it with a Gibson can, single in/out with a custom welded dual out pipe, topped off with twin 18" slash-cut chrome tips at an angle. Used all aluminized pipe to resist corrosion. Had the whole thing done for $180 out the door. Looks and sounds awesome.
