I was told atthe dealer that one of the injectors in this engine will not fire because vibration will cause the wire to one of the injectors to rub agianst something else and cause a misfire. but the truck will run fine once it's warmed up and running.
this is causing the trufckt to be hard to start. like i said once started it's fine. they said there's a ford fix were you put a rubber grommet around the wire. anyone know of this.
It might be just the under the valve cover pin connector (bad design). Mine was loose and ready to come apart with only 70k miles ... I just made a shim to keep the plastic locking tabs tight and it solved the problem.. You have to remove both valve covers to do this.. At the same time you can inspect your wire harness for rubbing, but mine was fine...Your profile says your truck is a 98..do you mean early 99?
