New Ranger

I have been speccing out new Rangers on Ford.com. I would love to have a new 2wd 4.0 with 5 sp auto. On the rearends, it doesn't say if it is the 8.8 or the 7.5.

Does anyone with a new 2wd Ranger know if what you get is the 8.8?

The rear ends depend on what engine you get. The 2.3L is the only thing that won't tear a 7.5 to shreds. Everything else get's the 8.8 inch.

My 2002 2WD 3.0L has a 7.5" limited slip. Don't know about the newer one's.

well they dont tell u i dont even know whatme ranger has and its a 06 3.0 sport and i think after the modifactions imabout to drop into it its gonna need a bigger diff and preffrably sum limit slip or locker

The 4.0 has the 8.8 for sure, the 2.3 has the 7.5 for sure, I've seen the 3.0 with both
(of course not at the same time hee hee)

the 3.0/2.3/2.5 are 7.5 limited slip is an option on the b3000 but not the 2.3. i have 2 with limited slip and 3 without and honestly cant tell a bit of difference. the 3.0 4x4 has the 8.8 both the ranger and b have the same drivetrain options.
