I have a 1999 F150 5.4L. I am considering to put an air intake system on my truck. Problem is I have no idea what to look for. Any brands or styles I should take note of? I am looking to gain some HP. I figure the easiest way to do that is by an intake system. I want quality along with a good price. Any responses are greatly appreciated.
I am happy with my Outlaw Power CAI. It draws in cooler air from the fenderwell and fits well. Most others use an open element and draw in heated underhood air even with the flimsy shielding. Cooler air means more power.
I have the k&N FIPK kit with the shield as well ive had it since 02, its ok easy to maintain and added performance, these fords seem to be ambiat tempeture sensitive just a bit, But if i had it all to do over i would get the outlaw system, it does a better job of gettinging in cooler air, check out there websight..A good air kit and exhaust and a chip and you should be able to feel a seat of a pants differance..
