hi this is my first posting on here. i rolled my 88 standard cab short bed 4x4 f150 about 3 years ago. i still have the truck and i just had a 95 xtra cab cab and front clip given to me. i am going to get the 88 hopefully this week (at my other property on the other side of the state) and the same with the 95 stuff. i am going to be putting the xtra cab on the 88 frame. i will be cutting the bed and fabing up the mounts and etc. i am keeping the motor in the 88 due to it is the 6 cyl and i like that motor over the 5.0 and 5.3. as far as the interior i am starting with the 95 auto cab and turning it into a manual and doing all of the electrical wiring etc myself.
if you have any words of wisdom or encouragement the are more than welcome.
ps i will be posting picts as soon as i get them.
Good luck...I've been wanting to swap something to that effect except the xtra cab wuld be going onto a 1 ton frame.....good luck to ya and do post them pics.....
well yesterday i spent getting the truck road ready. i had to replace the fuel filter (dad took off), getting it to crank (corroded cables), radiator cap, new rear drum springs (pass side had 2 broken for some reason?), fuses, headlight bulb, new license plate light reflector and bulb, adjusted hood so would close using factory hinge, cleaned cat hair out. is only opens on the drivers side due to tree hit above pass door. adjusted front alignment, bleeded fuel lines and new gas, filled diffs, added oil, power steering fluid and brake fluid.
after almost 4 years of it sitting with clean oil in it i got it street legal(except windshield) in a day and drove it home, which was 3 hours away with no problems at all. so build total is at $58- $15 headlight bulb/ taillight bubs, springs $10, fuel filter $10, and registration $23. not bad

Just update the PCM to a 92-up 300-6 with the manual trans PCM and swap in a 300-6 wire harness . Plug and play . The 95 speedo (electronic) gets from rear end sensor. But if you have acces to all wiring it will be easy swap .
