Shifter Postion

I just got my truck back from the tranny shop (from its 4th visit in a month) and now the shifter position is shifted a little to the left. That is, the needle on the gear indicator is barely touching the selected gear letter. Worse, I now have to lift on the shifter about 1 in five times to get it to start. Is this something that is easily adjusted? How do I do it?

First question is: Does it actually select the correct gear? or is it just the indicator. The indicator is adjusted by a small wheel. I don't think this is the case though as they shouldn't have done anything there. If you are moving the gear selector to get it to start it is because the actual shift linkage at the tranny is off. Mine is a yellow slip clip to say the least, a flat blade screw driver you can pry up the center section and slide the assembly up. Then move over and clip it back in. I am not sure which way to go, you might be able to look at it and see where it has been previously. Mine is 6 indentations from the right side to the yellow clip. By right I am referring toward the tail end of the transmission. I will see if I can find a picture but this should get things rolling.
