valve clearances, sp gap
What are the valve clearance, and what is the spark plug gap for a 300 out of an 84 f250. thanks. also any ideas why my trck stumbles and bucks while im drivin down the road? also from pick up. I looked at my accelerator pump and its working, but when im driving ill step on the gas and you can hear the carb open up but no gas for like 5 sec.

Sounds normal for the mid 80's with EGR that is overdue for service. They get crud build up in the passage ways and sometimes the metering plate or the whole valve needs replaced. Also, a plugged Cat may be contributing to the problem. Just make sure all the other systems outside of the carb are working properly before you tear in to the carb.
