I have a GARMIN Quest GPS. My eye's aren't what they used to be so now I am in the market for a new GPS. What I am looking for is a large screen with as many options as possible, points of interests, updateable, memory cards, ets. Does anyone out there have or used one with simular features?
There are several options from the Lowrance, Tom-Tom, and Garmin that will fit the bill. Once you get to the size screen you are wanting, you are best to go with a double din unit in the dash. I would recommend anything by Pioneer, Alpine, or Kenwood. You can get a very good unit from all three manufacturers for about $1000. The type of GPS that you are requesting will run about $800-$1000 and will not be as functional. The only advantage would be the portability to swap from one vehicle to another. The only units that I am personaly familiar with are the Garmin 376C, Garmin 7200, and the Kenwood DNX7100. The Kenwood and the Garmin 7200 are basically the same GPS navigation software.

I have just completed a 10, 450 mile tour of US. Used the Garman Nuvi 360 and loved it. The only problem I had with it is when I hit a brand new road and the 360 showed I was in an open field!! Once I reached the place where the old and new road joined it was okay again. It has lots of options, takes an SD memory chip for ebooks or MP3 files. As it may have been replaced by a newer model, I would imagine the newer model would be very simular.
thanks for the replies. I am thinking may be a Garmin 7200 or a built in head unit. I like the 7200 because of the 7in screen, but the HU will not take as much space.
I love the 7200 but the unit is so large sitting on the dash. The Kenwood 7100 is the exact same gps integrated into the radio unit and it looks so much better than the 7200. Any of the Kenwood units with the KNA-510 also use the same software as the Garmin, and can be bought for a little more than the 7200 alone.
