So I have a 200 hp 5.8l in my F-250 I'm looking to get about 250-270 hp out of non-engine bolt-ons such as cat back exhaust, computer chips, pulleys and the such. Can anybody tell me if headers really boost hp and if they do is it noticable? Thanks
I can tell you that I definetly noticed the boost in power in my truck after I installed the headers. Not a bad boost in power, mileage, and sound (definetly sounds better!)
Well, it depends on what you do with your exhaust after the headers. The headers can add 30-35 hp depending on what you have today and how your engine is set up. The best gain is if you can put full length headers flowing into two high flow cats, then into Flowmaster mufflers before exiting. You can add an H-pipe between the exhaust for a little better pickup.
