So im looking for a cover for the truck that folds to the front and I come across the extang solid fold. It also looks strong enough to stand on but not sure. So does anyone have experince with this cover, im just wondering the basics -does it leak,is it sturdy, worth the moneyyou payed how much and so on.
Thanks for the help everyone
Extang makes great products. That being said, an Undercover will be the only cover this fat boy will climb up on. I think I talked to one of my reps about that cover recently and it's the semi-normal, Ice cream truck insulation panels. So I wouldn't set too much weight on them.
A few Solid Folds are out there, but they had some problems and they have halted production temporarily. Your best bet is an Undercover. Several people can stand on it at one time with no problems.

Do you know what kind of problems that made production stop? Thanks for the help.
The extang shouldn't have the same problem as the Bak flip. While I like the Owner and his bed caps, but tonneau covers have had a lot of problems. The Bak flip's issue is the glue not holding. I didn't play much with the extang, but I believe it was riveted so no glue issue.
I really wish Bak didn't run into those kinds of issues, it's a nice product.
I believe some of the parts were breaking on the Solid Fold.
The Bakflip has had lots of problems: Warped panels, non-penetrating rivets, weather stripping coming off, pieces breaking, and yes, the glue is not holding in this year's summer heat.
BakFlip from another forum, these are recent pics, like from the last couple of weeks:
WOW after seeing those pictures im starting to think that I should wait and see if the solid fold has the same problems as the other folding covers. Also does anyone have pictures of what it looks like on the truck?
