Yes the displacement is marked on most FACTORY pistons on the skirt side near the pin area.
Look at your crankshaft,the ID numbers(letters)will begin with the number 4 (i.e.,4U,4UA).Also look for a small counterweight CAST into the crankshaft on the front counterweight near the centerline facing the snout.The 429 numbers shoud start with the number 2(2Y,2YA,2YAB,2YABC).Happy motoring......Dave.
I agree with loosemoney on the pistons being stamped for a particular engine displacement, but the casting #'s aren't right. A 429 crank has #'s either 4U or 4UA and a 460's crank #'s could be 2Y,2YA,2YAB, or 2YABC then in '79 they went to externally balancing the 460 and so the crank was changed also it's casting # was 3Y.
