H.P. Question
I was recently reading the numbers to see what my 1972 cleveland 2V was making, and i realized that in 1970 they had a stout 250 h.p. and 380 ft. lbs. However in 1972 it had a mere 177 HP and 284 Ft. lps. Does anyone know the reasoning behind the dramatic loss in power?

hmphh, its exagerated cause of the way they measured power, before 1972 gross measurement was used, were they measure the engine power under ideal conditions such as no instruments no smog equipment etc, in 1972 and after they used sae net ratings, were they rated the engine under "real" circumstances.
Anyways , a 1970 cleveland is still a bit more powerfull than a 72 one, By reading I would say the compression ratio makes the diference.
