Once again, Mike, you have impressed me with your expertise and willingness to help.
Many thanks! Just trying to help. I certainly appreciate it when folks leave detailed answers to my questions. So I try to scratch the FTE members back in return. I remember how daunting that job was when I started...

Thats why I was asking Andy, hes the only guy local to me that has a good knowledge of these trucks.
Do some google searches on an 8.8 ring and pinion swap. You should find many. I bookmarked one when I did it. Great photos and step by step help. I wish I still had it but I reformatted a while back.
Differential is pretty simple once you take it apart.

I bought a value gear brand and carrier for the D44 from JT's rearends(ringandpinion.biz). I bought Yukon 4.10's for the rear. They had a much better fit on the pinion than the cheap sets. Also, I do recall that they came with some decent instructions and spec sheets as well.
I took the truck to a ring and pinion shop with my parts (that shop marked up the prices of parts a bit higher than JT's) and they charged 4 hrs of labor at $65/hr. They also checked my rebuild on the 8.8 and surprisingly...I didn't bugger it up at all.
Call up JT's and ask for Jeremy. Tell him Mike with the green lifted F150 from the Fish and Wildlife service sent you! He's a great guy and very knowledgeable about these swaps. Pick his brain regarding any issues you might have.
