> The reason for those ignition upgrades is because I have a backfire problem
Usually a timing problem on a EFI vehicle.
Check to make sure your knock sensor is hooked up. It will be on the driver's side. I think on 87 it looks like a small oil/temp sender on the side of the block and on 88+ it is a plug inside the pan. But, I would have to double check on that.
I Have a 1989 Bronco ll with a tuff country 4 inch suspension lift and a set of
33 x 12.5 x 15 mud terrains to go with it and it doesn't seem to have any problems. i mean maybe a really small rub on the inside but thats it.
Your living dangerous "son". The bronco II's a short wheel base high center of gravity vehicle stock. You could blow on it and cause it to roll over with 8" of lift. The vehicle would be a lot more practicle with a bout 8" of lift and 31" or 32" tires.
I think you meant 4.10s for your chevy buddy 7.11s would be a really small pinion gear. There were a lot of baby broncos out on the trails at the last event i went to running mostly stock with 235-33s and they went just about anywhere they wanted to go. Dont make the mistake of going too tall or its gonna be too tippy to have fun with.
my friend has a bII its all stock but a 4" lift we put 33s on it and took it to rockport its an offroad park and most of the trails are for custom built rock crawlers we have been really hard on it and havent broke anything not even an axle
no i definitely meant 7.11s that truck was so limited on the top speed but had amazing low speed power. it only did around 60-70 mph tops at like 5500rpm or something like that. he traded it now though. i was trying to sell my bronco there for a while and got a lot of offers but i decided to keep it
I have a 90, 2.9 auto. I have 31X10.5/15's on it right now with a 2.5 lift. no tire rub problems at all.
Get rid of the blocks in the rear after just playing once when I took the rear apart the blocks were split in half. Get a set of leafs for an Xplorer. I got the ones with the 4 leafs. I got mine from auto Zone for about 150 I think.
There is some really valuable info at TRS. After I got the springs I took them apart and used 2 of the old leafs from the old ones and added them to the new giving me that 2.5 without blocks.
As for engine work, I found a book on Amazon .com that delt strickly with Ford V6 engine builds from the ground up.
