It's worth a try. You can also saw off those vertical crossmembers in the outside holes and put some wider Hella lights. My brother was going to do this and got halfway done with the project before scrapping it and just bolting the lights to the bottom of the bumper. The Hella lights that he bought were a SUPER snug fit for those holes, in all dimensions. The only way we could even get them to slide in was by cutting notches in the corners of the holes with the Sawzall so that the plastic had more flex. I believe these are the lights he bought:
