Hey I am in the middle of building my 302. Question is on the rings am I correct that they are to be like a 150 degrees aparts and any tips would be greatly apriciated on reasembling it.
the 150 degree spacing is correct. advice on assemling is keep it clean , measure everything thoroughly before assembling, and use good tools and parts. don't cut any ccorners to get it together faster or cheaper. you will pay for this later on if you do. also, invest in an engine stand,(rent or buy it, they are cheap), this makes assembling a lot easier,as you can rotate the engine on the stand to put in the parts.
When putting the engine together, use lots of oil. Put
lots of oil on the pistons/rings when installing. That's
what I think is ridiculous when I watch TNN on Sunday. They
will build an engine and assemble it dry! They were building
a Ford 9 inch rear and didn't lube anything before they put
it together.

Did you actually expect those guys to get their hands dirty? :-)
The best way to oil a piston is a small coffee can half filled with oil. Just dip the piston before installing it.
