any suggestions guys...when it rains hard I have been getting a damp floormat...not a puddle by any means...it's not the windshield, but its as if it comes downon the wrong side of the firewall?!?!?! not a bad grommet or anything as the truck doesn't have to be moving...maybe the cowl box?
TIA guys
The drains in your cowl legs are probably plugged with old leaves and other debris. I don't know how to get to them without removing the fender. They're down low and have a rubber 'plug' with a flap like cover. I've parted out a few of these - that's how I found them.
you can get to them from the top. If you take the cowl panel off from under the winshield wiper arms you can reach down in the corners and get all the leaves and dirt out.
But I have a similar leak that is actually from the seam in the bottom of the cowl box. The factory seam fill has peeled out over the course of the last 21 years causing a bit of a leak. I'm in there right now cutting it all out and filling the crack with fiberglass resin.
I had this problem also. It turned out to be the windshield. I could never see it but when they put in a new windshield the problem stopped. It was the black glue that holds the windshield in.
