Quick update
Been on vacation for the last two weeks and just stopped by the house to check on things. Turned out to be an expensive vacation as we traded in our fiver on a new one. (needed that like a hole in the head) Oh well back in debt again. Scales in at 12k loaded which gives me a combined weight of 20,200lbs. Doesn't really pull much different than our old one which was 2k lighter and 7 feet shorter. Averaging between 10 and 11 miles per US gallon with the heavier load. Just hit 10,000 miles and is starting to loosen up a little now.

Here are a couple of pics of the new trailer. There is a section that goes up over the cab of the truck. Very streamlined unit. They claim it saves two miles per gallon over a standard fifth wheel of the same weight. I guess it has the same effect of having a wind deflector. I do know that it does pull about the same as my old one which is 2k lighter and 7 feet shorter and I am getting the same mileage I was with the lighter unit. Hitch weight came out to 2,600 lbs and 9,400 lbs. on the trailer axles. Truck axles where 4,900 front and 5,900 rear.
