I got an 2003 Epy XLT 4X4 with the FX4 offroad package. I have never had a independent rear suspension in a truck before. I haul a 5500lbs trailer. I have a class 4 hitch and properly rated equip. Any catches with the axle?
As long as you are staying within the vehicle tow limits...YOU should be fine. Also...make sure your brake controller is working properly every time you hookup and tow.
Wrenchturner I would be wondering the same thing myself. IRS and Heavy duty seem diametrically opposed. I would be worried about CV joint life if you pull the trailer a lot.
Even if you stay within the rated weight on the trailer, it's still a lot heavier than the actual truck itself and will really put a torque load on those axles.
the axle was my question as well. I have plenty of power to go, you really don't know it's back there. Even my milage isn't to much of a difference.
I do have conti tires for now and should only be pulling this another month or so. It's my friends boxing ring, he rents for fights. We are close to getting the old grumman Kurbmaster on the streets again. Then no sidewalk will be safe!!! :-)
