Warranty transfer...

In 2003, I bought a 2003 PSD brand new off the lot from North County Ford in Vista, CA. It got replaced under lemon law in 2004. The dealer did a buy back and Ford gave me a new 2004. The 75k warranty purchased on the 2003 was supposed to be transferred to the new truck but somehow was missed in the transfer.

The truck sits idle in the shop for the infamous ball joint issue again but I am going to pull it out tonight as the dealer just told me that it is out of their hands, as they have nothing on record. Ford apparently is telling them they don't have anything either. The lawyer tells me they destroy their records after two years and so it looks like the only way I can get my warranty re-instated is to have Ford agree that it should have been transferred but someone dropped the ball.

For anyone out there that can help, I'd love to see an OASIS report on it as I had work (ball joints) done on it last year which would have only been covered by and extended warranty - 1FTNW21P74EC68516

They can see in their system I have bought 5 brand new Fords (owned 3 others additionally) and they are still giving me the run around?!?

Did you get it in writing that "The 75k warranty purchased on the 2003 was supposed to be transferred to the new truck" ?

The only place I can find that the warranty was supposed to be transfered was from the lemon law layer in letter from him to me. Somewhere is his documentation there had to be a statement (from Ford) allowing for the warranty to be transfered, as I doubt he would just pull it out of thin air. Unfortunattly his secretary claims they destroy case paperwork after 2 years. Shouldn't there be a law for how long they are required to maintain past cases?

Per gone4x4 it sounds like I am screwed as the last warranty work performed was convered under the 3/36.

So it looks like the only way I can get this transfered is if someone at Ford can see the light... that the lemon 2003 had a 75k warranty purchased on it, and the new 2004 somehow did not end up with one. If that is the case, where is the $2500 I paid for my extended warranty?

I sent Ford an email today from their site form and just got a canned response back, so I will call tomorrow and see how far I can get. Thanks guys...
