so i went out to my buddies place in the san fernando valley last night to have a bbq, smoke some cubans and have a good ol time...he lives at parthenia and owensmouth, not a good neighrborhood for those of you unfamiliar with the layout of the valley. So i come out to my truck at about 1 am and i open the drivers side door to go home AND SOMEONE FREAKIN STOLE MY RADIO
i opened my drivers side door to find a completly disheveled interior and my $400 head unit freakin ripped from my dash my passengerside window had been exploded all across the interior of the truck, and they ripped open the dash and stole my ipod...WHAT THE HELL
So now i have to go through all the insurance crap to get a new window and money for my stereo and iPod. How gay is that?! I even had an alarm on the truck, a TOP DOLLAR alarm...so much for that...not going to buy a top dollar alarm again...thats for sure...anyway...at least the truck was still there, at least i didnt come out in the middle of it and get stabbed or something...but no radio for a while...life can be amazing sometimes...just wanted to get that off my chest....
That is super lame... all that just for a radio. Hopefully it will catch up to him/them someday soon, or waiting a while and thinking your scott free is always a good time to get it on the flip side.
insurance will cover the window and the head unit and any damage to the dash board that happened, even though i dont think there is any, head unit will be covered up to 1000 bucks, the ipod doesnt get covered under my car insurance, so i am looking to see if homeowners insurance will cover something like that, but im not sure it will
they cut the wires...DAMN THEM
theres the damage, it sucks, but at least they left the truck
A real bummer. At least they did not hurt themselves as they operated on your interior, I have seen cars totaly trashed because the thief had cut himself in his zeal to rip the radio out, he got mad at the car and completely tore up the seats headliner, etc. All we can do is shake our heads, and go on with life, the truck will be fixed but you will never forget the incident. The parts they destroyed will take some time to replace since they are not stocked by dealers. Some times the part can not be found at all because of engineering changes in the vehicle.
