fuel gauge
i needs help again !!!!!!/my fuel gauge was working all the parts are the oem stuff . there is a drop resistor inline mounted on the frame rail . any way it all of a sudden does not work . turn the key on and it goes straight over to the full mark and stays there . and no it isn't because it's full you jolly jokers !!! the electrical system is my archilles heel and ive checked what i can to no avail . and the previous owner started a 12 volt conversion and some rewiring if you can call it that if you take my meaning . so any ideas ????????

The fuel gage reads variable resistance. The senders read the highest resistance when the tank is empty. Your symptoms tell me you have a dead short between the gage and the sender. Check the wire running from sender to gage for a break or it being pinched somewhere.
